It is made out of law authorization, courts and rectifications. Albeit criminal equity is slanted more into the authoritative body, pioneers in its job in administration, contributes extraordinarily in counteraction of wrongdoing. Pioneers ought to be engaged so as to oversee equity to forestall wrongdoing (Tshehla, 2005, p 1). Be that as it may, given this significant job of pioneers in wrongdoing counteraction, there are authoritative clashes between or among districts or among the individuals themselves. A case of this is the contention that typically emerges between a network head and his nearby councilor for example. This generally happens in view of the covering jobs without solid rules that will recognize the assignments that one must attempt. Along these lines, the two gatherings consider each to be as a consistent block in embraced their occupations. This likewise predominantly makes pioneers be reluctant in getting themselves engaged with the operational and specialized side of wrongdoing anticipation (Tshehla, 2005, pp 3-6). Given the significance of the two players in the viability of wrongdoing avoidance, pioneers and their administrative partners ought to have an away from of the jobs that they are should play to have the option to effectively take into account the requirements of the network that they are serving. Content With Dying by Chokehold free essay sample

Strangle hold is a metallic no-nonsense band from Canada that, while just remaining together around six years, was a built up and persuasive act in the straight-edge/veggie lover bad-to-the-bone scene. Their subsequent collection, â€Å"Content With Dying,† is effectively their angriest and generally energetic, which is truly saying something; if theres one thing Chokehold never did not have, its energy. You can concur or differ with their perspectives, however youve got the chance to regard a band that can put their message before their music and still come out with a close to great. Their messages arent unprecedented either. Indeed, they are as yet questionable with sees on religion and premature birth. The last is talked about in the tune â€Å"Not a Solution.† Presently, Id be lying on the off chance that I disclosed to you this band was comprised of superb performers, yet that wouldnt be the point regardless of whether this collection put the music first. We will compose a custom paper test on Content With Dying by Chokehold or on the other hand any comparative subject explicitly for you Don't WasteYour Time Recruit WRITER Just 13.90/page A decent measure of time on the collection is spent playing cuts from an old Young Republicans Youth Choir record †essentially a man examining the negative purposes of America, as the band proceeds to counter his contentions in the following melody. The musicianship isn't the point, as this record is amazingly oversimplified. Keeping a mid-beat all through, the band just trudges and chugs alongside the absolute generally made-for-headbanging riffs in the class, best exhibited in the initial track, â€Å"Underneath.† In the same class as it, the collection could utilize a touch of remastering. The creation is exceptionally crude and appropriate for this kind of music, yet it feels empty at focuses, with an absence of low-end, and the drums are turned up higher than they ought to be, despite the fact that they themselves are delivered well and sound tight. The guitars ought to overwhelm the collection; theyre splendidly twisted and brimming with groove. Considerably more so than their past exertion, â€Å"Prisoner of Hope.† The band has decreased the measure of breakdowns and tune from that collection, and made the vocals progressively noticeable while keeping them similarly as extreme. Vocalist Chris Galas conveys his politically charged verses in a reasonable yelling style. His voice couldnt be more grounded, and the equivalent can be said for his verses, similar to those on the track â€Å"Conditioned†: â€Å"Does anyone give it a second thought? Or on the other hand would they say they are too bustling watching and learning? Stuck to the TV while the remainder of the world is burning.† Just like the musicianship, the verses are straightforward yet amazing. â€Å"Content With Dying† isnt the most fluctuated record; its pretty much a similar sort of metal-impacted, chuggy riffs all through, however this collections twenty-a few minutes of music doesnt give them sufficient opportunity to get old. Actually, in the event that anything, theres insufficient of them. Unfortunately this was Chokeholds last full-length endeavor, however it stays truly outstanding in the class, also the heaviest and generally important. Its a fundamental expansion to any assortment of ?s no-nonsense fan, and shouldnt be ignored by those intrigued by the class.

The Expansion of a Business A Law Problem Question - Free Essay Example

Expansion of Acme Fireworks Introduction There is a great deal to reflect on during an expansion of a business. How will you construct, market, and dispense your goods. Are you eager to assume full accountability for your goods and indulgent in the legalities of what occurs if your goods are faulty? Just the once that has been instituted, ità ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s significant to make certain that your dealings of business are in order. The power of the contract and what all it involves. Recognizing that the official document is significant further so when things are inclined to go downward. Above all is making a decision which sort of business entity the company will choose particularly if the company set ups out small and seems to expand. Which entities will most excellent serve the expansion of the company such as Acme Fireworks? It has got to be implicit that in spite of of the product utilized, every products have the potential to source customer harm. Consequently namely why it is significant to ensure the whole thing from the manufacture of the fireworks to the labels warning has been gone above to ensure that the merchandise is not defective. As we go frontward with the expansion of the company, we desire to be certain things are done correctly and that we will meet up or surpass our standards of customersà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ at Acme Fireworks. The Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) or the Common law Princ iples of Contracts law in broad are consistently implicated and applied crosswise the USA. Contract Law is administered by the Uniform Commercial Code and the common law. Rather than a Common Law contract the Acme Fireworks owner must enter into a contract of Uniform Commercial Code[UCC] since it is a superior kind of contract for needs of commercial. à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“In UCC negligible changes does not have any effect and the original contract does not get revoked. The quantity is the foremost spotlight of the expression in UCC. Offers which are made by a business are irreversible if the contract is made in UCC are made in writing. Five elements of contracts One more important issue is the contract. There are 5 fundamental constituents to a contract: Offer, acceptance, Consideration, Legality and Capacity (Rogers, 2012). Other retailers informed the proprietor of Acme Fireworks that they wanted a definite quantity of orders filled on standard basis for a time frame undisclosed and a price was established upon, this is the acceptance and offer segment of the contract. The offerers, which in this example are the big retailers, make an offer which once accepted by Acme Fireworks, generates a binding contract. Acceptance has got to be in several ways instituted by all participants of contract; it might be verbal, symbolical, oral or written. Consideration is an additional constituent of a contract and what consideration fetches to the table detect the whys and whatà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s: Why are we entering into the contract and what are you getting? Acme in this case acquires additional money by being competent to manufacture its goods an d develop their brand and the retailers obtain fireworks from Acme. On the other hand in this example the Acme owner might have taken on a responsibility bigger than himself. This is a business with merely 15 workers and to fill up the orders with the fresh retailers, additional employees require to be employed. Not only do they require to be hired, however they require to be trained also. This has got to be done whilst filling out the orders. Here nothing is specified by the owner. How many employees do we require, how much flow of work will increase, and how large order we will have from the new retailers. No period of time was provided for the contract. Will this merely be only one order or is this somewhat that will order yearly. What happens if the orders are not fulfilled in an appropriate way is the contract then become null and void? An additional issue to ask is the capacity and validity of a contract. Capacity to contract denotes the legal capability of an individual to enter into a legitimate contract. Typically the capacity to contract renders to the capacity to enter into a lawful contract and the capability to execute some act. The essential part to enter into a legitimate contract is that s/he should have a sound mind. Potential personal liability for injury to consumers owing by the product. In the case mentioned here the employees would inspect accidents that happened at different places and make a decision whether they would charge more to recall the goods or recompense the entire cost for the alleged accident. If the costs are excessive to do a recall then the business would take accountability for the accident if a law suit is brought forth, on the other hand if it is economical to recall then the essential steps would be taken to recall the defective part. Recognizing this, it is significant that we put label on the goods regarding its appropriate uses so if any issues arises then it can be presumed that the maker of product had cautioned the buyers. Any harm in this way would not be the liability of Acme Fireworks, except the consumer. If somebody in a closet lights a firecracker and the firecracker goes off and harms the individual then the business is not accountable being that it is negligence on the consumerà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s part (Rogers, 2012). Now if t he similar person uses the firework on the outside in an open region as is stated on the label and they ignite the firecracker and it set off off in their hand immediately after the fuse is lit, then that is negligence on behalf of Acme. It has got to be implicated that despite of the goods properly utilized, all goods are expected to source injury to the consumer (Anthony, 1995). Consequently that is why it is significant to ensure the whole thing from the fireworks departments to make certain whether the caution labels have been carefully checked to ensure that the goods are not defective. If a fuse is excessively short in an item produced or if the material employed to source the firecracker to blow up is too much then that is a defectively manufactured goods. An additional issue might as well be the kind of firework that is made off. Letà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s state for example that one of the goods has the inclination to blow up in severe temperatures and is placed in storage ar eas where the temperatures are severe then that is carelessness on part of the consumer, on the other hand if the consumer was not made cognizant of this by the producer then the accountability descends to the company. Insurance companies are stating à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“you canà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t forever manage who is watching your fireworks display and by no means recognize who may file a court case in opposition to you for any bodily harm sourced by a rogue firework. In spite of how obscured liability of fireworks might sound, making certain youà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢re covered in the happening of injuries or property damage is as easy as finding the accurate custom insurance plan for fireworks that can be intended precisely for your needs (Xinsurance, 2009). And also the company will require taking steps to make certain that the customer is safeguarded and the companyà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s integrity is not negotiated. Different types of employment Acme has 15 employees full time as it currently stands. This is without considering the orders from the new retailers. What we make out is that the owner had acquired on further business, not taking into consideration the staff that we at presently have. For the orders to be fulfilled we would have to employ more labor force. Prior to this can be done we have to foremost reckon with what we have at the present. We at present have 15 people in Acme, to fill the fresh orders; do we hire on double or triple the size? If we do hire extra people, would it be on temporary or permanent basis? Employment is extremely significant when business is engaged. There are several things to reflect on when a labor force is involved. When it approaches with dealing with explosives it is significant that we consider finding individuals who have knowledge with working with fireworks and in addition are well trained. This will cost further funds for the company when it approaches to hiring persons t hat are trained to handle fireworks. Consequently these canà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t be usual workers that one can locate at a temp agency. On the other hand, we do not know how much long period of time to employ these individuals since there is no clarity as to the extent of the contract, so the kinds of workers that we would have to employ would have to approach in from labor force agencies (Smith, V., Neuwirth, E.B., 2009). The big thing regarding hiring from an agency is to select out of big pool of people. There are times when a lot of companies view temp agency workers as persons who are unskilled, on the other hand with the agencies types that are about today, they can find extremely skilled persons that several companies would be hard pressed to do, being that they would have to drain several resources to do so. And also once hiring process of new employees is over the business should watch it scheduling to make certain that they pursue the appropriate Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938 on the regulations of overtime, employee breaks, minimum wage hours worked, and as well pursue the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970 for the sustained safety and health of the business (Rogers, 2012). A new business entity It has to be implicated that this business established out of a garage a couple of years ago and is now grown-up into a business that employs 15 persons on staff. Currently with the fresh revenues that will approach into the company, Acme Fireworks will have to get bigger. Acme is a sole proprietorship firm owned by an individual. This is the easiest structure of organization to form. There is not much of paperwork in addition to the tax implications. If there is a loss for that year you can employ this loss to counterbalance your further income on your individual return (Fishman, 2014). Despite the fact that working as a sole proprietorship is easier, it can in addition have a number of setbacks as well. The most important problem is that thereà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s no division between the business and the individual with the sole proprietorship. That denotes that if somewhat happens in the business, like taking on big contracts with no apparent time line and limited staff and pla nning, you are made individually liable. For instance, if Acme Fireworks business is sued or runs into monetary difficulty, the owner would be individually liable and creditors and lawsuits can take over your personal assets. That is a concern since if the company profits go to counterbalance the debt, there is modest to no money to run the company suitably, develop, or look out for employees. This is merely one of the several things to reflect on when changing your business entity in addition to deciding on what is most excellent for your company as one. Acme Fireworks commenced its business out of a garage, like the majority businesses it is hard to raise capital or arrange long term financing since of fewer assets. As well there is one view and one voice which can fright big business opportunities away. This is why for the future of Acme Fireworks a Sole Proprietorship would not be practicable. Being in this sort of entity also makes it harder to expand. To expand and gr ow a company requires an official business structure. As a result the decision to make is which entity to select? With such a new undertaking to finish in such a small time, the risk would source a sole proprietor to desire to structure an LLC or incorporate into a new company. It would be finest in the case of Acme Fireworks, to modify the business entity to a company. Acme Fireworks has undertaken to supply goods to these fresh large retailers, would require additional capital to develop the business in addition to acquire the essential material to ensure that the new orders are capable to fill, in addition to fulfilling preceding obligations to the other retailers that we have trade with. Selecting this entity safeguards the owner from legal liability, provides the capability to draw more investors in the course of stocks, and has additional structure where there is not merely one voice for the company. The concurrence to this is the tax liability and the time and how greatly it cost to incorporate, unlike to a sole proprietorship, business incorporating takes a great deal additional paperwork, in addition to feeà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s that require to be compensated to the state the business is in. Good thing for the employees is that even if anything happens to the owner, or if he retires, the company will still be integral not like sole proprietorships. Conclusion There are several things to reflect on when it approaches to operating a company, expanding it, and seeing it flourishing. There are several businesses that started out in a small garage, Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, and also men like John D. Rockefeller. On the other hand, growth cannot happen devoid of risk and determination. The most excellent way is to ensure that youà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢re prepared to expand is to be certain where you desire to take the business and have a resonance plan as to the steps one will take to attain there. Once you have an idea and financial backing the subsequent s tep is to make a decision which kind of business entity you desire to be. Tremendous Value Of The Great Migration - Free Essay Example

The Great Migration was the enacted movement of six million African Americans from the Southern to the Northern Hemisphere of the United States between the years of 1916 to 1970.It is historically divided between two periods: the first Great Migration, which occurred between 1916 and1930, when a bout 1.6 million individuals migrated from rural regions, and the Second Great Migration, from 1940 to 1970, with more than 5 million African Americans migrating. The reason for this interval is that the movement decelerated during the decade following the Stock Market Crash of 1929. However, these freed men were able to continue their mass departure soon after the Great Depression, due to the entry of the United States into World War II. For the most part ,this relocation, being one of the most appalling consequences of two world wars, as well as the greatest migration movement in history; both voluntary and compulsory,1had a vast influence in the life of African Americans, for through it, not only did they become more integrated in working matters and the public life, but also unenclosed new political and social paths, further reestablishing a success full black urban culture in the future. In the beginning of the Twentieth Century, more than nine type cent of African Americans lived in the predominantly rural Southern states, whilst only about eight percent in the North. During that period, most blacks were sharecroppers and tenant farmers who remained vulnerable to exploitation. The most compelling evidence is that landowners often forced sharecroppers to acc ept artificially low prices for their crops, although they would charge expensive prices for their products, including seeds, tools, and groceries at the local stores they controlled. Also, Negroes were subjected to mistreatment and deprivations in Southern industries, since railroad contractors in the South treated them, their black layers, like prisoners. An example of this abuse would be that track layers were paid only once a month and forced to purchase food at the company commissary, where high prices claimed most of what they earned. In brief, blacks were confined to the dirtiest and most grueling jobs.2Continuously, asides from the unfair treatment they extensively tolerated, the South was no longer a profitable place, since it had passed through a disastrous war, the effects of which so blighted the hopes of its citizens in the economic world that their land seemed to pass, so to speak, through a dark age. At that point, only a few educated Negroes had reached the position of being satisfied in the South. The rest of the Negroes, including those eliminated from politics, however, could not easily bring themselves around to thinking that they should remain there in a state of recognized inferiority, especially when during the eighties and nineties there were many evidences that economic as well as political conditions would become worse.3Therefore, the worsening world of white supremacy that arose in that period,4as well as economic factors, were of the main reasons many African Americans began to move into Nort hern and Midwestern states, such as Michigan, Illinois, Pennsylvania, and New York. Furthermore, they were hoping to find jobs in steel mills, railroads, automobile factories, and meatpacking industries. Other reasons include that they were searching for better schools and educational opportunities, as well as social equality and recognition, to be more involved in the American culture.T his is reinforced in the books A Century of Negro Migration(1918), and What the Negro Thinks(1929), as through them, it is mentioned that in the North, they earn more money than they have been accustomed to earn in the South. They are attracted also by the liberal attitude of some whites in the aspect that it gives the Negroes a liberty in northern centers which leads them to think that they are citizens of the country;5Also, that the Negro is not looking for special privileges, but for recognition by public authority of his right to enjoy equal privileges with other American citizens. Many of those who left the South were heading for larger Northern cities, including Cleveland, Detroit, Pittsburgh and Philadelphia, and later to Western cities as well, such as Seattle, Los Angeles, Oakland, and Phoenix. All these cities experienced significant surges in population, considering that nationwide, only 740,000 African Americans lived outside of the South in the 1900s. However, as the Twentieth Century progressed, this number eventually rose to more than 10 million living in other regions of the United States. Simultaneously, the departure of these thrifty and industrious negroes was not spasmodic, but rather a steady drain of the best class of laborers that the South now has.7Thismigration had numerous different ramifications for the nation, for as Negro populations increased, many Northern cities became progressively more integrated. African Americans began working alongside recent European immigrants, as well as other white residents, due to the need for employment t hat resulted from mass industrializations in factories, the growth of new railroads and automobiles, and new job opportunities from white Northerners going to war who are leaving their originally owned positions open. This migration is utterly influential in todays world, since it was able to create a change by making the Negroes become more recognized and integrated in the American Society. Initially, there were negative consequences of this movement, being that African Americans would experience racism in their new homes. For instance, in some neighborhoods, white residents moved to other places, in order tolive away from the Negroes. Also, most African Americans could rent apartments only in areas that real estate agents and banks had designated as colored, adding up to the statement that African Americans suffered the highest rate of residential segregation of any minority group. This prompted many of them to grow pessimistic about achieving racial equality.8However, in the midst of all this, the Negro thrivesAbove it all, his voice rises, singing; and above the note of his joy has become the symbol of our modern America. To the Negroes, the white man occasionally seems a bit pathetic in his insistence upon keeping the worth of the Negro hidden, in refusing to recognize skill and talent, honor and virtue, strength and goodness simply because it wears a black skin. Therefore, during the 1920s, an intellectual, social, and artistic awakening aiming to redefine the black culture emerged, which would eventually take place in New York, becoming known as the Harlem Renaissance. This crusade, a congregation of musicians, novelists, painters, and sculptors, between others, was symbolized by the image of the New Negro, who would no longer be deferential to whites but who would display his or her independence through talent and determination.10Over time, cities inhabited by them became important centers of African American culture. Negroes subsequently became important political constituencies in northern urban areas, where Democrats and Republicans generally supported efforts to end racial discrimination,11whichgeneratedmoreacceptance to these individuals. Nowadays, African Americans play a very active role in the current society of the United States, being that they have contributed in the establishment of businesses, political organizations, churches, and newspapers, amongst others. The Great Migration also contributed in turning the United States into a more interracial nation with more variety of cultures, religions, and set of beliefs, not only of African Americans, but also of other immigrants from diversified ethnic groups and forthcoming generations. All things considered, the Great Migration was a massive movement that has had an impact in the American society up to this day. Through it, African American individuals were determined to discover new economic opportunities, escape from Southern prejudice, and achieve social equality. Although Negroes had to resist long periods of racial segregation in their new cities at first, they remained persistent in their desire to be recognized, in terms of culture and capability, and were furtherly able to express themselves freely and become integrated, whilst obtaining active roles in occupations, society and politics.

The Status Of Women Should Be At Home Raising Children And...

Although the status of women has greatly improved throughout time, in many parts of the world women have yet to gain the same rights as men and are often seen as lesser to their male counterparts. They can face not only the issue of basic rights but have to fear the threat of rape, violence, and the refusal of certain services because of their gender. After speaking up against the oppressive Taliban rule that made it difficult for her to safely attend school, Malala Yousafzai was shot in the head. Her case is just one example of life for girls in countries like Pakistan. â€Å"Under Boko Haram s version of Sharia law, women should be at home raising children and looking after their husbands, not at school learning to read and write† (â€Å"The Threat of Girls’ Education†). In another country, Ghana, the †2002 Population and Housing Census in Ghana indicates that 54.3 percent of female aged 15 years and over, have never been to school† (Sossou). Although education is not legally restricted for girls in countries such as Pakistan or Ghana, going to school can mean putting their life in danger. In virtually any part of the world women face the threat of being raped. While men are subject to this threat as well, the chances of it happening to them is significantly lower. â€Å"By conservative estimates, between 18 and 25 percent of women will experience rape or attempted rape in their lifetimes (i.e., experience sexual penetration by the use of threats, force or drugging)† (Senn). I Am Shanna Woods, A Dancer, Mother, Life And College

I am Shanna Woods, a dancer, mother, life and college student, dance instructor and aspiring choreographer. I have dance before I could walk. I decided I wanted to dance after watching a video of Dance Theatre of Harlem’s Giselle in the 5th grade. At that time, I didn’t know becoming a dancer was a possible career. It was just something we all did in the community; shaking our non-hips, doing the tootsie roll, and whatever we saw on the music videos. I remember making up dances for my friends and forcing my cousins to learn routines for family reunions and other gatherings. You can say, I was always a choreographer at heart. I began serious training at Middle School of the Arts in West Palm Beach, FL. I also studied chorus. I became a dance major at Dreyfoos School of the Arts also in West Palm Beach, FL. Through Dreyfoos I was exposed to Graham with Jan Goetz, contemporary modern with Gina Buntz, ballet with Jeff Satinoff, as well as guest artists like Ben Vereen and R eginald Yates. I also trained at Southern Dance Theatre in Boynton Beach where I studied ballet, jazz, and gained my love for Bob Fosse through Dancer’s Edge Dance Company. After high school, I joined the Deeply Rooted Dance Theatre Pre-Professional Training Program and 2nd Company. Under Kevin Iega Jeff, Gary Abbott, and Andrea Johnson, I not only learned how to use my body as a way of expression, I learned how to vocalize my needs as an artist, woman, and human being. Tintoretto - 637 Words

Tintoretto (Jacopo Robusti) (1518-94). Venetian painter. His nickname derives from his fathers profession of dyer (tintore). Although after Titians death, little is known of his life. He is said to have trained very briefly with Titian, but the style of his immature works suggests that he may also have studied with Schiavone, Paris Bordone, or Bonifazio. Almost all his life was spent in Venice and most of his work is still in the churches or other buildings for which it was painted. The Role of Women in The Epic of Gilgamesh Essay - 799 Words

The story starts off with Gilgamesh, the King of Uruk, who is one third man and two thirds god. This story is about a mans quest for immortality in addition to the importance of boundaries between the realms of animal, man and gods. Women symbolize the importance of locative boundaries in the text. These boundaries are set by the harlot Shamhat, Ishtar, Siduri, the tavern keeper, Ninsun and Utanapishtims wife. By giving women this role of wisdom and boundary enforcement, The Epic of Gilgamesh reflects how Mesopotamian society actually valued women. The harlot, Shamhat, serves to establish the boundary between animals and humans. Enkidu, a creature on the border between animal and man is selected by the gods to balance out Gilgameshs†¦show more content†¦This tragedy influences Gilgamesh to search for immortality. Then, Gilgamesh meets Siduri, the tavern keeper, in his search for immortality. Knowing that Gilgamesh will never be able to cross the boundary between man and god, Siduri gives Gilgamesh directions to Urshanabi, a boatman but not without some advice first. You will never find that life for which you are looking. When the gods created man they allotted him death, but life they retained in their own keeping. Siduri told him â€Å"fill your belly with good things, dance and be merry for this too is the lot of man (102). Here, mans lot in life is shown as rather meaningless and a woman has been left to teach Gilgamesh this. Both women remind Gilgamesh of his place, in that Ishtar keeps Gilgamesh in check with Enkidus death and Siduri proves wise with knowledge of Gilgameshs fate. Furthermore, the boundary between men and the gods is separated by a thin line of mortality. Utanapishtim’s wife shows that Gilgamesh cannot cross that line. Also, Ninsuns wisdom keeps Gilgamesh in check and shows womens power of knowledge. When Gilgamesh dreams of meteors and axes, the goddess Ninsun, Gilgameshs mother knows exactly what is going on. Benefits of the Telehealth Project-Free-Samples for Students

Question: Discuss about the Benefits of the Telehealth Project. Answer: Introduction Telehealth project has been introduced for improving the access to the healthcare in public hospitals of the rural areas (Rutledge et al., 2014). The main aim of this project is to improve the delivery of healthcare, health services and improve the patient outcomes across the state. Current funding is being planned to set up urgent healthcare centres in the rural regions and to set up emergency departments at the nearest hospitals via video conferencing. This report develops a vision document for the Telehealth project. It discusses about the problems for which this project is being planned. This report also describes the capabilities as well as benefits of the Telehealth project. Problem Healthcare professionals face difficulty in providing quality healthcare services to the patients due to long distance issues. They face difficulty in communicating for delivering health or other related processes such as professional advice and education. There are several issues in case of face-to-face methods of providing education, professional advice and healthcare services. Most of the physicians and healthcare professionals practice in the urban regions. There is lack of healthcare facilities in the rural regions (Paliadelis et al., 2012). Due to long distance, healthcare professionals face difficulty in delivering timely as well as appropriate healthcare services to the patients in the rural regions. They also face difficulty in providing educational support. Healthcare professionals are unable to spend sufficient time with the patients due to several barriers like time, distance and cost. Rural patients do not get the facility of emergency healthcare services in a timely man ner (Weinhold Gurtner, 2014). Response time by the emergency healthcare professionals and the time taken in transportation are comparatively more than in the urban regions. These difficulties have led to impair outcomes such as increased emotional and physical stress of the patients. Capabilities The main capabilities of Telehealth will be video conferencing, mobile health, monitoring patient from remote location and storing of health related data. Telehealth project will promote the use of information and communication technologies for remote access of healthcare services. This will enable the physicians and healthcare professionals to manage health related data as well as the healthcare of the patients from a distant location (Nagel, Pomerleau Penner, 2013). Telehealth will utilize various technologies for delivering virtual health, education and medical services. Effective communication is key to making any relationship work. Communication can be verbal (speaking), as well as non-verbal (facial expressions, body language, etc. ), and can dictate how compatible two people are, and how long a relationship may last. Communicating includes expressing emotions, interaction, touch and others that dictate how the relationship between two people will develop. Being able to open up to your partner, and covey your feelings allows for a better understanding, and greater rapport which are all important. Effective communication can be directly connected to Reiss’s wheel theory of love, and the four concepts that are part of the marriage market endogamy, exogamy, homogamy and heterogamy all of which can help explain fundamentals of relationships, as well as the different types. Effective communication has a close relationship with Reiss’s wheel theory of love. This wheel theory depicts the development of love as a spinning wheel. Consisting of 4 spokes rapport, self-revelation, mutual dependency, and fulfillment of the need for intimacy. Rapport is when two people meet there is a sense of â€Å"ease† and â€Å"understanding. † For rapport to occur, verbal communication, as well as body language is a key component in building this ease. I view rapport as somewhat of a spark between two individuals, and people must be able to have a conversation, and show effecting body language such as flirting, the right greeting (handshake, hug, etc. ) to make each other feel comfortable around each other to build the rapport. After rapport is built, this leads to self-revelation, the act of gaining trust and confidence in the relationship. I believe the key to gaining trust in a relationship is communicating effectively. If you are open with your partner and tell the truth about your past, lifestyle, etc. a sense of trust can build, and you begin to feel more confidence in the strength of the relationship. Effective communication as well as Reiss’s wheel theory of love have a close relationship with the four concepts that are part of the marriage market endogamy, exogamy, homogamy and heterogamy. The concept of exogamy is marrying outside of one’s family. It is important to have effective communication in this instance because growing up you learn how your family does things and live life. When your entering a relationship with someone, they have also grown up learning there style of life. Communicating effectively, and working together to combine different lifestyles is essential to making the relationship work. This is important in the self-revelation aspect of the wheel in building a trust and confidence in living and building a household with one another. This is also tied to becoming mutually dependent upon one another. Being mutually dependent means sharing a lifestyle, such as going on walks, sharing jokes, etc. Communicating with your partner while building a life of your own is a big part of what makes a relationship. Endogamy is the act of marrying someone in the same group as you (neighbors, work members, friends etc). In this situation a rapport is built before hand, leading to effective communication already being present when the relationship is being built. Knowing someone for a while before hand I believe can make a relationship stronger because you already know a lot about the individual, and have plenty of things to communicate about. Homogamy is choosing a mate with similar characteristics. These characteristics can included religious beliefs, political views, among others. In this type of relationship, it seems as if rapport would be high. People tend to feel more comfortable around individuals who share the same ideals and beliefs, and would be able to communicate with one another easily based on their beliefs. This is very beneficial in having someone to talk to that you have a lot in common with, as that is a great start in building a certain comfort level. Heterogamy is choosing a mate whose characteristics are different than your own. This is very similar to exogamy, where as your entering a relationship with new things, different beliefs, way of living, etc. and you must communicate to build a rapport, and comfort with your partner. You must live your life in compromise, and make sure you can adapt your life to make it comfortable for both.

Matthew Nestasia Essays (309 words) - Law Enforcement, Prevention

Matthew Nestasia Police Operations What does it take to be a good police officer? In my opinion a good officer should show his or her community that they're there to protect them and aid them. In order for an officer to properly demonstrate this to their community they'll need certain characteristics to back them up. To start, they'll need to be compassionate, most officers have on some level compassion or else they wouldn't have become a cop. When it comes down to it a police officer is a person with the ability and desire to help people when they need it, compassion is a necessity. Having compassion also shows the community that cops aren't just here to write out speeding tickets, they're here to help you. A skill that a good cop needs is attention to detail; officers need to have the ability to think on the fly at a moment's notice. For example a detective needs to have developed this skill greatly, or else they could miss a key piece of evidence and likely end up with unsolved cases or guilty men walkin g out of the court room as innocent. Now paired with attention to detail officers should have critical thinking skills. If you as a cop is out on patrol and drive by a playground when you notice there are a lot of older kids doing something suspicious, cops need to be able to assess the situation and act accordingly. In conclusion police officers require many skills and traits in order for them to be a good cop. It is also important to have good relations with the citizens in the area you, as an officer, will be patrolling frequently. Although situations may come by that require force, cops should not be looked at with hate or anger for trying to resolve to conflict.

Understand influences on dietary intake and nutritional health Essays

Understand influences on dietary intake and nutritional health Essays Understand influences on dietary intake and nutritional health Essay Understand influences on dietary intake and nutritional health Essay In this assignment I am going to explain possible influences on dietary intake, assess how influences on dietary intake may affect the nutritional health of individuals, then I will make realistic recommendations for minimising negative influences on individuals in a specific health and social care setting. Factors what influence what people eat include could be health factors which restrict dietary choices and nutritional intake could be underlying health conditions such as; lactose intolorence where dairy products within the diet is restricted, so the person will have to get calcium from other products like fish- and also use alternatives for milk like soya or rice milk. The person could have a food allergy like a nut allergy so this means they cant eat products that contain nuts or traces of nuts. Dietary habits can infucence could be ones like meal patterns- if they work shift patterns then this could have a big infuence on the times the person eats food because they wont have consistant meal times and be eating at all different times of the day. Snacking could be another factor because they may get bored waiting for food to cook and decide to snack this could lead to putting on weight, also food availablity- if they live in a area that is surrounded by takeaways; they will want to go and eat a takeaway rather than cook as it is easier. This fits into lifestyle; the person might not live near a gym and live near lots of unhealthy places, they could live near a deprived area and may not want to go for a run to get excersice; they may also go out a lot with friends (social eating and drinking) these all have an impact on a persons health. A persons occupation is a factor- if someone has a job that requires sitting at a desk, they arent getting much excersise and will gain weight, however- if their job is being a fitness trainer or a football coach, then they will get consistant excersice. The economical climate is a big factor as wages have stayed the same and the price of food and drinks has gone up, and also access to shops- the person may not have a car or the funds spare to get a bus, and if their corner shop raises its prices of food then the person will have to pay for them as they cant afford to get a bus or a taxi. They may not be able to afford healthy food and processed foods are often cheaper (like pizza and microwave meals) so it is easier. If a person has cultural beliefs- if they are a vegetarian or a vegan, this can affect their dietry choices as they will only want to eat non-meat products/non-animal produce, and often these products are more expensive. Education has a big impact on heath factors, as many people havent been educated on what nutrition labels mean so they dont understand what is on the label. If a person is lactose intolerent, then they wont be able to eat or drink products that have dairy products and the natural sugar (that is found in milk- it is added to foods), they wont be able to eat cream, cheese, yoghurt, biscuits and chocolate, and many breakfast cereals. This can affect their intake because lactose is often used for energy as well as it helps to absorb a number of minerals such as calcium and magnestium so deficiencies can start. This means that they wont be getting enough calcium (high in dairy products etc) or magnesium in their diet- this can lead to brittle bones, weak bones and teeth, calcium also aids the stopping of blood clots. If a person choses a lifestyle of living on their own; this can have a major impact on their nutritional health because if they live on their own; it is easier to have a takeaway or a microwave meal than to cook a portion of food for themselves, which requires washing up. It is faster to cook a meal in the microwave or order some food from the takeaway. It is also more expensive to put food in the fridge, which if the person isnt in a lot due to working then this could mean wasting money on food going off and not getting used when only one person is in. They wont have fruit and vegetables in as these will also go off and is it also a waste of money. This could lead to a high bmi, high cholestrol, and lead to the person being overweight. They will not be getting a balanced diet or following the eat well plate to stay healthy. There are several ways to reduce the negative influences that impact on a persons diet; if a person is lactose intolerant, they can still get calcium and magnesium as they can take lactose subsititute to help in digestion. If a person smokes, and they are smoking instead of eating, then this means that they arent having a balanced diet or getting all the nutrients they need- the person could cut down smoking and eat more meals when hungry instead of replacing meals for cigerettes. A person who lives on their own could also get healthier meals in that can be cooked in the oven for a short period of time- they could look online on what the traffic light labels mean and ensure if they are eating microwave meals then they are high in energy and low in salt and fat. If they work shift patterns, then they should ensure the food that they do eat (if it is late at night), that it is healthy and that they dont just go to the chipshop because it is easier, they should take soup or a pasta salad, not only will it give them lots of energy which is a slow release, it is healthier.

Analytic on heroism in The Odyssey and Rama's Exile - Essay Example The main character Rama, is reincarnation of God Vishu who comes to earth as Rama to destroy the demonic forces that were creating havoc among the saints and the general public. The story enfolds with the King Dasrath of Ayodhya, who had four wives and five sons. Rama, being the eldest, was heir to the throne. The king complies under pressure and dies. Bharat, meanwhile, refuses to accede to his father’s wishes but but agrees to manage the kingdom on his behalf. Later, Rama leaves for fourteen years of exile with his wife Sita and younger brother Laxman. A Reflective Account of a Teaching Session about Changing a Stoma Essay

A Reflective Account of a Teaching Session about Changing a Stoma - Essay Example It is thus important that on my part, I analyse my approach in teaching to determine its effectiveness, strengths, weaknesses and what I should do to make it better. The best approach to examine my approach to teaching is definitely through the use of Gibb’s reflective cycle as it will enable me to reflect a great deal in using one situation and analyse everything that occurred in it, relating my actions to each result that occurred. Through Gibb’s Reflective Cycle, I will analyse a case in which I taught a patient how to change a stoma. I will first describe the context of the teaching- how I acted and how the patient reacted. According to Jasper (2003) this should be followed by analysing ones feelings in the situation and emotions at the event. One then follows this up with an evaluation of the experience, determining which aspects turned out to be positive and which ones were not, and what failed to go according to plan. After this one needs to critically analyse th e occurrence, establishing a conclusion on the entire experience and ultimately come up with an action plan to follow in case of a similar experience in the future. By the time I am through with this, the teaching experience will be analysed in entirety and the next patient I teach how to change a stoma will have a better experience. The context of the teaching This is the first step of Gibb’s Reflective cycle, where I will analyse what actually happened as I taught the patient how to change the stoma. To begin with, the patient had undergone a surgery to due to a severe case of diverticulitis and was just about to be discharged. I visited her ward as was required of me and undertook to explain to her how from that moment henceforth she would be changing the stoma. The patient was clearly in anxious emotional state due to the surgery she had just undergone, although it had been very successful. As Winston et al (1987) so ably puts it, the pre-operative and post-operative emot ional states of surgery patients is characterised by anxiety, misgivings, depression and irritability. Spielberger (1973) had earlier on suggested that patients usually develop anxiety to surgery as an emotional reaction towards situations that physically threatening, while Furst (1978) demonstrated that patients under surgery usually reported fear, apprehension, worry and uncertainty. All this serve to explain the emotional status of my patient as at the time I was teaching her. I realise that even before I had started, she was in a state that would make it difficult to absorb what I was saying. I first explained briefly to the patient the procedure she had just gone through- the surgery, and a little about diverticulitis and stomas since I assumed she already had been informed. I told her that diverticulitis was a condition arising from inflamed pouches on her large intestines known as diverticula, and also informed her that it was not a rare condition since about 10% of Americans above the age of 40 have diverticula and of these, ten out of twenty five develop diverticulitis (Borgadus, 2006). On the stoma, I told her that it was a surgical bypass of her colon system which had been affected by the diverticulitis and now failed to function properly. I informed her that the colostomy meant that she had to have a bag for receiving fecal matter a single time (Stoma and Stomata, 2009). I could see that she was embarrassed by her condition and the life that she would lead from that henceforth. I then took the patient through the steps of changing a stoma. I used knowledge of the Honey and Mumford teaching and learning style to determine which kind of learner she was. The Honey and Mumford teaching and learning style identifies four distinct preferences of learning styles,
